That $180 commercial toaster was a straight up scam for small kitchens

I bought a fancy dual-slot toaster from a restaurant supply place in Phoenix thinking it would speed up my breakfast sandwich line. Took me 3 weeks to realize it cant even handle thick bagels without burning the outside, and the timer is off by like 45 seconds. Ended up back on my $40 home model from Target and the quality is way more consistent. Has anyone else gotten burned by "commercial" gear that just isnt worth it for a solo operation?

Burned my hand on a "pro-grade" panini press once and honestly that was the best thing it ever made for me. The thing couldn't even toast a slice of white bread evenly, just gave me a sad stripe pattern and a visit to urgent care. I've learned the hard way that "commercial" just means "built to survive being dropped by a teenager working a double shift," not "makes better toast." My $25 Walmart special has outlived every fancy thing I've bought for the shop. Maybe my kitchen is just too small for big-kid equipment.
