Wasted $80 on a fancy vacuum sealer that barely lasted two months for my meal prep packs

Bought this stainless steel sealer on Amazon back in September after reading all the glowing reviews. Thought it would be perfect for portioning out my biryani and curry portions for delivery. Worked okay for the first 3 weeks, then the seal bar just stopped getting hot. Tried cleaning it, tried different bags, nothing. Customer service ghosted me after the return window closed. Ended up just using the cheap hand pump bags now, they're not as good but at least they don't break the bank. Anyone else have bad luck with those mid-range sealers?

My sister bought one of those same stainless steel ones back in October for her sous vide steak obsession. Thing stopped heating on day 45 right before her Christmas dinner prep. She had like 12 ribeyes sitting out ready to bag and had to run to Walmart for the cheap hand pump ones. She still brings it up every time I see her.
