Ran coolant through a dry pump for 3 shifts, discovered by a burnt smell
Our shop at Horton Industrial, nobody ever told me to prime the pump after a full drain. Third shift yesterday I smelled something like a toaster on fire, traced it to the main unit, impeller fins were glowing orange. Has anyone else silently fried a pump their first year, or was it just my dumb luck?

Did you check the bearings after that? I heard dry running can warp the shaft and kill the seals too.
