My brother insisted I needed a scale for my pour over

He said eyeballing the water was why my coffee tasted weak. Bought a cheap $20 scale and my morning cup is way better now. Anyone have a good recipe for a V60 with a medium roast?

Yeah the "eyeballing the water" thing got me too. I used to think scales were just for people who were way too into it. My coffee was always kinda sour or bitter, never right. Started weighing my beans and water, turns out I was using like 10 grams too much coffee every time. That little $20 scale fixed more than any fancy grinder I bought first.

@anthony_sullivan68 totally nailed it. The eyeballing trap is real. I was doing the same thing with my pour over, convinced I had it dialed in. Weighed it out one morning and found out I was off by like 15 grams of water. That fixed way more than the new grinder I bought right before.

Seriously, that cheap scale is the best coffee upgrade I ever made too.
