Pro tip: I was wrong about pre-ground coffee for cold brew
I always thought grinding beans fresh for cold brew was a waste, since you steep it for so long anyway. Last week I ran out of my usual pre-ground stuff and had to grind some whole beans I had, a medium roast from Guatemala. The difference was crazy, it tasted way more clear and less muddy. Has anyone else tried this and noticed the same thing, or did I just get lucky with those beans?

You're totally right, it's a night and day difference. The pre-ground stuff always gave my cold brew a sort of bitter aftertaste I could never place. Fresh grinding just makes a cleaner cup.

Wait, you used to think fresh grinding didn't matter for cold brew? That's wild. @riley_reed is onto something about the bitter taste going away. Guess I'm buying a grinder this weekend.
