PSA: I used to buy every single variant cover, but my wallet finally said no.

For years, I felt like I had to grab every alternate cover of a new issue, especially from my local shop in Denver. It started with just a few, but after a big crossover event in 2018, I had five copies of the same comic. I finally stopped last month when I saw the pre-order list and the total was over $300 for one week. Now I just pick the cover art I actually like the most. How do you all decide which versions are worth it?

Lol, my wallet tapped out years ago. I just grab the one that doesn't look like trash.

Honestly @jason112, that's the real pro move. My rule is if the label is mostly in English and doesn't have a cartoon animal doing something weird, it's good enough. Grabbed a bottle last week that just said "RED" in big letters. Tasted like wine, did the job. At a certain point you realize you're just paying for the fancy paper on the label.

...same thing happened to me actually, @jason112 I started with a few variants and next thing I knew I had like eight copies of some Bat-title from a couple years ago and my girlfriend was like "are you opening a store?" ...now I just grab the regular cover unless the variant is something really cool like a blank sketch cover I can doodle on, my wallet's a lot happier that way.
