The Wednesday pile at my local shop is a ghost town compared to 10 years ago
I stopped by Comic Kingdom in Cleveland last Wednesday and there were maybe 5 other people flipping through new books. Back in 2014 that place was packed with guys like me trying to grab the hot variant covers before they sold out. Between digital comics and preorders eating the walk-in crowd, the whole vibe of new comic day just feels different now. Anyone else notice their shop feeling empty on Wednesdays compared to the old days?

Isn't part of the fun actually digging through the bins instead of just picking up a preorder bag? My shop still gets a decent Wednesday crowd, but it's more people hanging out and chatting than racing for variants. Maybe that's not such a bad thing.

I gotta ask @patriciaellis though - do you think that hangout vibe actually keeps new people coming in? Like I see a bunch of regulars at my shop just shooting the shit, but the new readers who might've wandered in on a Wednesday and gotten hooked by the chaos are missing out.
