Went to a con last Saturday and saw three people in homemade suits that looked better than the movie versions

One guy had a Batman suit made from leather scraps and upholstery foam that honestly put the Dark Knight armor to shame. Has anyone else noticed cosplayers outdoing Hollywood on a shoestring budget?

Oh the "Dark Knight armor" bit, you mean the one from The Dark Knight Returns or Batman Begins? I always get the movie titles mixed up, sorry. But yeah, you're totally right about cosplayers outdoing Hollywood. I saw a guy at a con once who had built a full Iron Man suit out of foam floor mats and spray paint, and it honestly looked more screen-accurate than some of the early MCU suits. The thing is, movie studios have all this money and fancy tech but sometimes they go too over-the-top with the design, making it look clunky or unrealistic. Cosplayers just focus on what actually looks good and feels right, since they're the ones wearing it for hours in a stuffy convention hall.

Man, you're totally right about the foam floor mat Iron Man, that's impressive. It's wild how cosplayers nail that sense of realism because they're actually living in the suit, not just looking at it on a screen. @alice_harris35, you hit it exactly right about movie studios overdesigning things for no reason. They add so many extra lines and panels it just looks busy instead of cool. A cosplayer knows if a piece of armor is going to rub or pinch after ten minutes, so they build it smarter, not just flashier. It's like Hollywood forgot that less is more sometimes, you know?
