Spent 8 years hooking my bailout reg upside down until my supervisor pointed it out on a job near the Santa Barbara rig last month
My buddy saw me dress in and said 'dude your backup is gonna snag on every grating you swim under' and now I have to retrain my muscle memory for 30 foot dives, has anyone else had a dumb gear habit that took way too long to break?

Oh man, I feel your pain. I spent way too long wrapping my necklace loops the wrong way, like every single time I'd get the twist just backwards and it would take me an extra 20 seconds to clip in. What helped me break it was practicing the new movement on dry land every single morning with my eyes closed, just 10 reps before coffee. The muscle memory shift is brutal but it clicks faster than you'd think if you do it that way, I was good in about a week. Also maybe tape a little reminder note inside your lunch box or on your reg bag, sounds dumb but it kept me honest until the new habit stuck.

Facts. Did the eyes-closed drills trick too, worked like magic.
