Can we talk about using rubber bands to fix sticky keyboard keys?

I was 20 minutes away from buying a whole new keyboard for my Dell when a coworker said to just wedge a tiny rubber band under the sticky key cap. It's been three weeks and the space bar works better than new. What's your cheapest fix you've seen work?

My friend Sarah shoved a rolled up Post-it note under her 'A' key and it worked for like six months before she finally got a new laptop lmao.

Huh, nobody's mentioned the one that saved me years ago. I had a 'delete' key that stopped working on my old Lenovo. Instead of rubber bands or paper, I took a piece of electrical tape, cut it super thin, and stuck it under the key cap on the side that was sunk in. Worked like a charm for over a year until the laptop finally crapped out. The trick is you gotta match the thickness right or you'll make it worse. People overthink this stuff when the cheapest fix is literally just tape or a tiny strip of plastic from a milk jug cut to size.
