Found out thermal paste on CPUs is way older than I thought

I was looking up some old hardware specs for a repair and stumbled on the fact that thermal paste has been used since the 1960s on mainframes. I always assumed it was a 90s PC thing lol. Anyone else run into old tech facts that made you feel dumb for not knowing?

Oh man, that one got me too... I thought thermal paste was some fancy new invention from the early 2000s when I built my first PC. Turns out engineers were slathering that stuff on room-sized computers back when my parents were kids. Makes me feel real smart for never questioning where it came from, haha. I guess I just assumed computers ran on magic and hope before the 90s or something.

Nah @lilychen, thermal paste was around way before the 60s too, just not called that.
