Just ran across a stat about how fast old hard drives fail

I was looking through some Backblaze drive failure reports the other day and saw that even their oldest drives from around 2013 still have a failure rate under 15% after a decade. That surprised me because I always figured mechanical drives would just die way sooner than that. I had three Seagate Barracuda 1TB drives from about 2020 that all crapped out within two years, so maybe I just got unlucky. Has anyone else seen those Backblaze numbers and had a different experience with their own drives?

Backblaze numbers are decent but your Seagates crapping out that fast sounds about right honestly.

Yeah stick with WD drives, they last way longer in my experience.
