PSU died on me mid-remote session, client got a show

So I'm remoting into a client's server in Denver last Thursday to run a firmware update, and my power supply just pops with a little spark and a burnt toast smell. The machine goes dark, but the client is watching the whole thing freeze on their end and texts me "did you just brick my network?" lol. I had to drive 20 miles to my backup rig, finish the update from there, and then explain why my home office smelled like a blown capacitor. Anyone else had hardware fail at the absolute worst possible moment during a remote job?

Did the client actually think you could somehow brick their whole network by losing power on your end? The timeline here is what gets me though, going from remote session to 20 mile drive to finishing the update means that firmware window was open way longer than planned. What was the backup plan if your rig at home had also crapped out mid-update?
