That one client who thanked me for cleaning their PC fans still makes my day

Guess I see it differently. Sure, getting thanked feels nice but I'd rather have a client who just pays me on time and doesn't call me three times a week asking why their printer isn't working. Those little thank-yous are just a bonus, not something I hang my hat on. I had one guy thank me for installing his wifi and then try to haggle my rate down by ten bucks the next month. So yeah, appreciation is cool but it doesn't fix a cracked laptop screen or pay the bills.

Gotta be careful with canned air though, tilting it upside down can actually freeze the fans and damage the bearings. A lot of people don't know that and just start spraying without checking the angle. Still, having a client actually notice and say thanks is way better than the usual "my computer is slow" complaints.

Oh man, that canned air tip is super important, I've seen so many people mess that up! Do you think most techs learn that from trial and error, or is it something you'd expect to be taught in like basic hardware training?
