The firmware update note that made me recheck every BIOS I've ever flashed

I saw a line in a patch release last Tuesday about a corrupted microcode issue only appearing after a specific sleep state cycle, and it hit me that I've never once checked for that on older boards I've worked on. How often do you guys actually go back and verify firmware stability on machines from 2+ years ago, or do you just assume if it boots, it's fine?
