Had to pick between a $8 broom and a $45 mag float for cleanup today
I was at the supply house this morning and stared at my options for way too long. The broom would do the job slow and cheap, the mag float would speed things up but hurt the wallet. I grabbed the float because I'm tired of sweeping dust for 20 minutes after every pour. Worked like a charm on the garage slab I finished this afternoon in Phoenix. Anybody else find themselves spending more on cleanup tools than finishing tools?

Tired of sweeping dust for 20 minutes after every pour, that hit home. I used to just deal with it until I finally broke down and got a proper dustpan with a long handle, still regretting the broom every time I use it. Good on you for grabbing the float, time saved is worth the money when you're sweating it out in Phoenix heat.

Brother, you're out here still fighting the good fight with a broom in Phoenix heat? That's like bringing a water gun to a wildfire. The float is the only way to keep your sanity and your back from giving out before you hit retirement age.
