Overheard a homeowner say our work is just 'playing in the mud'

I was grabbing lunch at a deli in Pittsburgh last Tuesday when this guy in a suit starts telling his friend that concrete finishing is just 'glorified mud pie making.' I almost choked on my sandwich. He had no clue about the timing, the mix ratios, or that one bad trowel pass can ruin a whole pour. Has anyone else had to deal with people totally disrespecting what we do?

Did that guy ever try floating a slab in July heat without it setting up too fast?

My buddy tried it. Slab set up in 20 minutes flat.
