Saw a wild finish on a patio in Sedona that actually worked
Honestly, I was out there last month and saw a crew using a 3-inch wide paint roller to apply a sealer on a stamped patio. They were getting way better coverage than a sprayer in that crazy wind. The homeowner said they got the idea from a guy in Flagstaff who does high-end residential. Has anyone else tried a roller for sealant on a textured surface?

My crew in Prescott uses a 4-inch microfiber roller for stamped concrete. It uses more material but gives a thicker, more even coat on the texture. You avoid the dry spray and wind drift you get with a pump. It's slower, but the finish is worth it.

Reminds me of how the "right" tool is usually the slower, more careful one. Like hand-sanding something instead of using a power sander, you trade speed for way better control over the final look. Seems like a universal trade-off in a lot of trades, not just concrete.
