That $70 'pro' controller from a random website was a total scam

I saw a deal pop up on Facebook for a controller that looked just like the Xbox Elite but for $70 instead of $180. Figured I'd give it a shot since my old one had drift anyway. When it showed up, the sticks felt loose right out of the box and the triggers squeaked after like 2 hours of playing Halo. By day three the left bumper just stopped working completely. Has anyone else had luck with those cheaper third party controllers or should I just save up for the real thing?
