Coworker at the hospital told me the moon landing was fake, and it made me rethink how I judge people
I was on break at 3am last Tuesday with a nurse named Dave who I've worked with for 2 years, and somehow we got onto the moon landing. He said the flag waving proves it was all shot in a studio, and he wasn't joking at all. I used to lump everyone who believes stuff like that into one bucket, but Dave is one of the sharpest people I know on the floor. It got me thinking about how many of my own beliefs I've never actually checked, I just picked them up from people around me. Where do you draw the line between a theory worth hearing out and one you just roll your eyes at?
It's funny how we trust the person who checks our IV drip but not the guy who says the same thing about a flag on the moon. We all pick up our facts from somebody, and most of us never go back and ask who that somebody was.
