Ghosted on a job that size? That's a huge amount of money to just walk away from. A handshake feels right in the moment, but people can be so unreliable. I'd be furious.

It's a brutal lesson in how little a promise is worth sometimes. I've seen guys get burned on deposits for kitchen remodels, or lose a whole summer's worth of scheduled work because a client just changed their mind. That handshake deal leaves you with zero backup when they stop answering calls. You're left holding the bag for any materials you already bought.
