Switched from trowel-and-float to a power trowel on concrete finishing after watching an old pro do a 3000 square foot slab in under an hour

The finish was smoother than anything I'd ever done by hand and he used less water, so I picked one up last week and I'm curious if anyone else finds them worth the $800 investment for smaller jobs under 200 square feet.

Hold on, 3000 square feet in under an hour? I've seen some fast guys but that sounds almost more like a magic trick than concrete work. Was he running a helicopter or did he have some kind of hidden conveyor belt system? I'd pay good money just to watch that, never mind try to copy it.

Yeah 3000 in an hour is insane. I've watched crews pour like 1500 in that time and they're moving like their lives depend on it. Either that guy is the Flash or someone's rounding up pretty hard.
