The supply house counter guy in Toledo saved me $400 on a boiler job
Was picking up a circulator pump at the supply house on Monroe St last Tuesday and mentioned I was about to order a whole new expansion tank setup for this old house. The counter guy, Ray, asked what the pressure was reading and I said it was bouncing between 12 and 28 psi. He told me to check the fill valve before buying anything, and turns out it was just passing by a tiny bit. Swapped a $22 valve and the tank held steady at 14 psi all week. Made me realize I should run pressure numbers by the counter folks before I start throwing parts at a job. Anybody else got a counter guy who's saved them from a dumb order?
