DAE think a rough dry cut beats a wet cut for curly hair?
I did a dry curl-by-curl cut on a client last month in my Raleigh chair, and her 3b/3c hair shrank way less than it did every time I wet cut her over the past 2 years. Her wash-and-go at the 5 week mark still had the same shape, which never happened before with my wet cuts. Most stylists I know say you have to cut curly hair soaking wet for even tension, but that never matched what I saw on her ends. I get why wet cutting is the standard, I just think it hides the real length and makes the shrinkage worse. Any curl specialists here doing dry cuts, and how are you handling the sections?
