I finally chose balayage over foil highlights for a client with level 6 hair, and the grow-out is way softer
Everyone in my salon swears foils are the only way to get a bright, clean blonde, but my client Maria with level 6 hair wanted something low upkeep for her job at a bank in Dallas. I did a freehand balayage instead and used 20 volume with a clay lightener. After 10 weeks her roots blended so well she skipped her usual 6 week touch up, and she booked me again for March. Has anyone else moved away from foils for that in between level, or do you all still reach for the foil first?
