Spent $130 on a fancy hair steamer, turns out my regular towel trick was better
I kept seeing these hair steaming videos on social media and finally caved after a bad at-home bleach job left my ends crunchy. Bought one of those handheld steamers online for $130, used it every wash day for about three weeks. Honestly, my hair felt soft right after, but by the next morning it was back to being dry and frizzy. Then my coworker at the shop said to just wrap my damp hair in a warm towel for 20 minutes before conditioning, which costs nothing. Tried it twice last Saturday and the slip was way better, plus no weird plastic smell on my strands. I'm sending the steamer back this weekend, but I'm curious if anyone else has had better luck with them or if I just got a dud model? What's your go-to deep moisture trick that doesn't involve a gadget?
