That mall kiosk in Denver tried to sell me a $250 straightener

Walked past one of those kiosk setups at Cherry Creek last Friday and the guy grabbed my hair without asking, said I need their ceramic plates or my ends will keep splitting. He quoted $250 but I got the same results from a $40 clamp from a beauty supply store I've used for 6 years, has anyone else had to dodge those mall pitches?

Man, those kiosk folks are something else. I had the same thing happen at Park Meadows a couple years back, some lady literally pulled my hair and started lecturing me about my split ends. I just told her no thanks and kept walking, but honestly my $30 straightener from Target does the job fine and I've had it forever. The trick is to not make eye contact and keep your hands busy so they can't grab at you. And if they do touch you, that's actually not okay, you can just walk away, they can't force you to listen to their pitch.
