Oh I feel your pain on that "nearly ruined my whole garden" part! Same thing happened to me with a cheap lavender oil from a big box store. The issue is that a lot of those oils have synthetic additives or are way too concentrated for direct use on plants. I started buying only therapeutic grade oils from a reputable brand and now I always dilute them with a carrier oil first before even thinking about spraying anything. Also try testing it on one plant first before going ham on the whole garden like I did.

@nina_sullivan61 totally nailed it, and honestly this just fits a bigger pattern I've noticed where people assume "natural" means "safe" without checking ingredients or dosage. Seems like every week I hear about someone torching their plants or ruining their skin because they thought more was better with essential oils.
