TIL split-screen beats online for my family game night
We tried playing Overcooked 2 online with my sister in Portland last month, and the lag plus voice chat delay killed the fun. Switched to local co-op on the same couch and suddenly we were yelling and laughing like idiots again. Anyone else find one mode just works better for their group?
The thing about split screen nobody talks about is how much the shared screen space forces you to talk. Online you got a full screen and everyone is quiet, just watching their own little world. Split screen makes you share the camera, so you gotta yell stuff like "go left go left" or "who knocked the rice off." That constant chatter is the actual game, not the cooking. Online co-op with my brother turned into us barely speaking for two hours. Couch co-op had us screaming at each other in ten minutes and that is way more fun lmao.
