Rant: The "label everything" advice that wrecked my shelf layout
My buddy in Portland swore color-coded labels on every game case would fix my shelf chaos, so I spent $40 on a label maker and 3 hours tagging 200 titles. Turns out the labels peel off the spines when you slide cases in and out, plus they look terrible against the black shelves. Are labels really worth the effort, or is this just another organizing trend that sounds good on paper but fails in practice?

$40 on a label maker just for spines that peel off in a week? Man, that hurts. I tried the same thing once with my movie shelf and used those little plastic tabs instead, still looked like a garage sale. The real issue is nobody talks about how labels need the right kind of shelf spacing to actually clear the cases, and even then the glue gets weird with heat or humidity. Honestly, I think sorting by genre or color is way more reliable than any sticker system, cause your eyes learn the pattern without all that extra work. You got burned, but at least you found out before you went and labeled every single cartridge like I almost did.
