I bought a cheap third-party load chart for my old truck crane and it cost me a day's work

I needed a new chart for my 1987 Link-Belt, and a guy online sold me a laminated one for $75, said it was the right model. Got on site for a pick and the numbers were off, like way too high for the radius I was at. I had to stop everything, call the rigging company, and wait for them to confirm with the factory specs. Lost about $800 in pay for that day. Has anyone else gotten burned by a fake or wrong load chart before? How do you check yours?

My shop laminates the factory PDF for $20.

Man that sucks, sorry to hear it. After I got a bad chart once, I started calling the crane manufacturer directly with my serial number. They'll usually email you the right PDF for free, then you can get it printed yourself.

Hey, check if your local library prints large-format stuff for cheap too.
