Vent: That one blind spot behind the hospital wing took me 3 hours to figure out
Everyone says to just trust your spotter, but when they can't see you either because of the building overhang, you're on your own. I sat there for 45 minutes trying to swing the load around a corner at St. Mary's before I gave up and called the foreman. Has anyone else run into spots where your radio guy is basically useless?

Man, I read a crane operator forum where a guy taped a backup camera to his hard hat for spots just like that!

Waldo crane company out of Oregon had a guy do that back in 2019 and the union safety rep made him take it off before the first lift. They claimed it was a distraction but really he was spotting for a blind pick behind a concrete wall and it worked perfect for two weeks before anyone noticed. Bet you the insurance companies are already writing new rules against head-mounted cameras just to cover their own backsides. Kinda makes you wonder who really benefits from keeping those blind spots around, doesn't it.
