Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say his phone died after a "free" airport hotspot, no VPN needed
He thought public wifi was fine because it had a password on the sign, but I watched him log into his bank app 10 minutes later, so has anyone else stopped using those networks entirely after seeing one too many sketchy login pages?

Man, I used to be the guy who thought a password on the sign meant it was safe... now I'm honestly paranoid about even checking my email on those things. That story about the bank app is exactly the kind of wake-up call I needed to stop fooling myself.
