Showerthought: My home network was wide open for years until I saw my neighbor's smart doorbell get hijacked.

For about 3 years, I just used the default password on my router because it seemed fine. After seeing a stranger's voice come through their doorbell camera last month, I finally set up a guest network and changed all my passwords. How many people are still running on factory settings without even knowing it?

That story about the doorbell is so creepy... makes you wonder how many routers in your own building are still on "admin/password" right now.

Check your own router first, then maybe change the wifi password.

Routers are the real problem, not the doorbell. Most of them are still on default settings.
