Just figured out why my punchlines were falling flat at the family dinner last week

Turns out I was burying the setup under too many details about the chicken and the tractor. Now I keep it to 8 words max and wait for the groans to hit.

Ask if the 8 word max thing actually works with every audience though. Family laughs are different from drunk friends at a bar, right?

Tried the 8 word limit on my mom and she just stared at me like I forgot how to talk.
