Watched a guy at a poker night bend my favorite deck into a dollar bill fold trick

I brought my brand new Art of Playing Cards deck to a game last Friday at Mario's basement in Brooklyn. The guy next to me, Steve, asked if he could show a quick trick and I said sure. He then used my deck to try some dollar bill fold thing and bent the corner of about 15 cards into a permanent crease. I didn't say anything for like 20 minutes but I could feel my face getting red. Finally I just grabbed the deck back and said 'this is a $45 setup man, you gotta ask before you stress the stock like that.' He laughed it off but I was dead serious. Has anyone else had a guest ruin a deck during a casual game night?

Did your deck have those nice crushed edges? I would've been livid too, that's a lot of cash to just bend up like that. Some people don't get that not every deck is a toy.

Right, because nothing says "collector's item" like a deck that looks like it went ten rounds with a paper shredder. I'm sure they thought they were being careful, like a bull in a china shop is careful.
