TIL my tablet pen tip was worn down after 3 months of daily drawing

I was wondering why my lines felt all jagged and wobbly lately, so I finally looked up the nib replacement guide on the Wacom website. Turns out the tip was basically flat on one side, which explained everything about my weird strokes in Clip Studio. Has anyone else gone through a nib way faster than they expected?

The first time I changed a nib I dropped it on the carpet and spent 20 minutes crawling around with a flashlight. My cat thought it was a game and kept batting it under the couch. Now I always do nib swaps over a clear plastic tray just in case. Also, some people don't realize you can rotate the nib as it wears down to get more life out of it before replacing.

Oh, you had to go and remind me about the carpet nib incident, huh? I swear those things have a magnetic attraction to the deepest, darkest spots in a room.

Rotating the nib definitely helps, I get twice the life out of mine that way.
