Can we talk about how I wasted 8 months working from coffee shops in Bangkok

I spent 8 months hopping from cafe to cafe in Bangkok thinking I was saving money on coworking spaces. Then last Tuesday I sat down at a place near Sukhumvit and realized I had spent $4 on a cold coffee just to use their spotty WiFi for 3 hours. That day I added up all my coffee shop receipts from the month and it came to $180. A decent coworking desk in the same area is like $150 a month with stable internet and free water. I also noticed my back hurt all the time from hunching over tiny cafe tables. Has anyone else run the numbers on their cafe habit and been surprised by what they found?

But who else is gonna give you that sweet sweet people-watching inspiration (and questionable street food within arm's reach)?

Yeah "questionable street food" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there, @willowc60. People act like a half-cooked skewer from a cart is some kind of life experience. I'll pass on the inspiration if it means spending the night praying to the toilet bowl.
