Coworking host told me my typing was too loud and I switched to a mechanical keyboard with silent switches

Was at a spot in Medellin last month, typing up some invoices for a freelance gig. Host walked over and said my laptop keyboard was 'disturbing the quiet zone.' Got embarrassed, went home, bought a Keychron with silent brown switches for $85. Honestly the feedback is way better and I'm faster now. Anyone else get told their basic office setup was annoying in a shared space?

Not a bad move on the silent switches, honestly. Had the same thing happen at a WeWork in Austin last year with my old Dell keyboard. Quiet zones are the worst when you're on a deadline and they don't say anything until they're pissed. Switched to some foam dampeners under my keycaps and that did the trick for like 15 bucks. Might wanna check if your Keychron has any spacebar rattle too, those can get loud on the downstroke. Tape mod on the back of the PCB is another cheap fix if you're still getting side-eyes.

The tape mod saved my sanity in a library once, no joke.
