Talking to a guy in a coworking space in Bali changed my whole setup

I was in Canggu last month and this older guy sat next to me at the coworking spot I use. He noticed I had three different cables for my laptop, phone, and headphones and asked why I didn't just get one multi charger. I told him I liked having backups but he laughed and said I was just carrying dead weight. He pulled out this tiny 65W GaN charger that did all three things at once. I bought one the next day from a shop down the street for $25 and now my bag is way lighter. It made me think about how many little things we just accept as normal when traveling. Has anyone else had a random chat completely change how they pack or work on the road?

@rayc38 yeah mine gets warm too but nothing crazy, I've been using it daily for like two weeks now and no problems at all. You're spot on about the cable mess though, I went from carrying a whole tangle of wires to just this one little brick and it's made hopping between cafes way easier.

Funny how we're all slowly simplifying our lives without even planning it... one less cable here, one less charger there, and suddenly your whole bag isn't a disaster zone anymore.

Did you find the GaN charger heats up much when running all three at once? I bought a similar one off Amazon last year and it gets pretty warm. Still works fine though, and you're right about bag weight. Cutting down cables and bricks makes a real difference when you're moving around.
