Warning: The cafe scene in Ubud feels totally different now
I was back in Ubud, Bali last week and the main street was packed with people on video calls, way more than when I was there in 2018. It felt less like a chill spot to work and more like an open-plan office, with everyone talking about KPIs and deliverables. Has anyone else noticed a place they loved for remote work change like this?

Open-plan office" just means it's a popular spot now.

Ugh, that sounds like my own personal nightmare. I can just picture it now, trying to enjoy a coffee while some guy at the next table is loudly explaining his quarterly synergy matrix. It's like the whole point of working from a cool cafe gets totally lost when you're just surrounded by the same office buzzwords you wanted to escape. Maybe we need to start a secret list of places that haven't been taken over yet.
