Rant: My brother told me to put salt in my coffee. I thought he was messing with me.
We're talking about cheap Folgers from the break room at his garage. He swore a pinch of salt cuts the bitter taste. I figured he was pranking me like the time he said the shop vac could double as a leaf blower. Tried it anyway last Tuesday. Stuff actually worked. The bitter bite was gone. Felt like an idiot for arguing with him for 10 minutes. Anyone else get handed some ridiculous sounding hack that turned out legit?

Tried the same thing with my buddy's cheap diner coffee last year. He swore a pinch of salt would fix the burnt taste from the pot sitting too long. I thought he was full of it but gave it a shot anyway. Dude was right, it actually smoothed out the flavor like magic. Now I keep a little salt shaker in my desk drawer for those bad break room brews. Feels dumb but it works.

Oh man, salt in coffee is a GAME CHANGER. I had the exact same thing happen with a pot of gas station coffee that tasted like it was brewed with old socks. A buddy from work said just a pinch and I laughed at him. But then I tried it and the bitterness just vanished. Now I always keep a little salt packet in my lunch bag for emergency bad coffee. Just don't overdo it or you'll taste the salt. Start with like three grains if you're scared.
