I finally stopped fighting my cable tray and used zip ties instead

For years I tried those velcro cable wraps and they always came loose after a few months under my standing desk in Austin. Then last weekend I grabbed a bag of 200 zip ties from the hardware store for $4 and cinched everything down tight under the tray. Has anyone else found that the cheap old-school fix works better than the fancy stuff?

Oh man, that reminds me of this old flip phone I found in a drawer the other day. Thing still turns on and has a full charge after like 15 years, meanwhile my current smartphone dies by 2pm if I look at it wrong. I feel like sometimes we overthink stuff when the basic version does the job just fine. My buddy tried all these fancy meal planning apps and ended up going back to a paper notebook and a sticky note on his fridge. There's something about stuff that doesn't try to be smart that just works better over time.
