That cheap desk leg from Amazon nearly ruined my whole build
My buddy Mike swore those $25 adjustable legs from Amazon would work fine. I figured he was being cheap as usual, but I went along with it. Three months later my whole desk was wobbling so bad my monitor shook every time I typed. Spent a Saturday replacing them with proper steel legs from a local hardware store for $60 total. Anyone else had to redo a whole desk because you trusted a bad recommendation?

Yeah I used to be the same way. I was all about saving money on Amazon legs and brackets. Thought I was being smart. Then my cheap monitor arm bracket gave out at 2 AM. Sent my nice monitor crashing into my keyboard. That was a $400 mistake that could've been avoided if I just spent the extra $30 on a name brand mount. Now I tell everyone to just buy the steel stuff from the local hardware store. Some lessons you gotta learn the hard way.

Hold up @paul_morgan, a $30 name brand mount over a $20 Amazon one is a big jump. I've had Amazon brackets hold up fine for years, you really think it's all that serious or just bad luck?
