Blew $40 on a pre-made fog fluid that just smelled like burnt toast
Figured I'd try that mass market stuff from Amazon instead of mixing my own glycol and water, and it left this nasty greasy film all over my $200 machine after one Halloween party. Anyone else run into cheap fluid wrecking your heater element?

Might want to try mixing your own next time, that burnt toast smell isn't normal.

Lilychen, "burnt toast smell isn't normal" is the understatement of the year! I once left a store bought mix in the oven so long the bag melted into the loaf. Took me three days to air out the kitchen and my roommate still calls it "the carbon incident." At least your place didn't look like a crime scene out of a baking horror movie.

5 grams of cinnamon per loaf is your limit, @lilychen learned that one the hard way myself. Burnt toast smell means you overshot your flour to liquid ratio by at least a cup. Store bought mixes are a gamble, but at least they don't smell like a house fire.
