Paying full price vs waiting for a sale - which side are you on?

I had to decide between buying a new laptop at full price last month or waiting for Black Friday deals. I went with the full price option because my old one crashed mid-project and I needed it right away for work. Paid $1,200 for a Dell that now goes for $900 online and honestly I'm kicking myself a bit. But I also got 3 extra months of use out of it for my freelance stuff so maybe it was worth it? Do you guys usually wait it out or just pull the trigger when you need something?

Unpopular opinion: new coil packs aren't always the fix

Just had a misfire on a 2015 F-150 last Tuesday. Swapped all 8 coil packs and it still ran rough. Turned out it was a corroded ground wire under the battery tray, wasted $320 on parts I didn't need. Any other guys here actually check wiring before throwing parts at it?
