Got tired of thin fog that disappears in 2 seconds, tried adding a second heating coil

Honestly my homemade fogger was making wispy smoke that cleared out way too fast for a haunted house I was setting up. Took an old soldering iron element and wired it in series with the main coil, now the vapor hits that second heat and stays thick for a good 30 seconds longer. Anyone ever try a dual stage setup like this?

Man, that double coil idea is clever but I gotta ask if you thought about the safety side. Most soldering iron elements aren't rated for continuous use in a metal enclosure with oil or juice, you could be cooking off some nasty fumes if the second coil runs too hot. Have you checked the temp on that secondary element with a thermometer? I know a guy who melted his entire machine doing something similar, the plastic housing warped and dripped onto his carpet. Not trying to rain on your parade but nobody talks about the fire risk with these mods. If it works it works, just keep a fire extinguisher nearby.

Did you actually test it yourself or is this secondhand from that guy who melted his rig? I ran mine with a cheap thermometer for a week straight, never hit above 180F on the secondary coil, which is low enough for juice.
