The beat-up broom handle I found on trash day fixed my deadlift bar

Tbh I was about to drop $70 on a new trap bar after mine snapped, but I spotted a solid oak broom handle on the curb last Tuesday and it fit perfectly as a replacement grip for my DIY landmine attachment. It took me like 20 minutes to sand it down and wrap it with hockey tape, and now my rows feel even better than before. Has anyone else repurposed random junk like furniture legs or pipe fittings to save a piece of gear instead of buying new?

wait, you found a beat up broom handle that actually fit your landmine attachment without any crazy modifications? thats wild because every broom handle ive ever seen has that stupid taper at the end that makes it worthless for anything besides brooms. you sanded it down and it held up through rows, no splinters or cracking under load? i gotta say im kinda impressed but also terrified for your shins if that thing ever gives out mid rep.
