Update: I was team cordless drill until my dad handed me his old DeWalt 20v hammer drill
I always thought cordless was the way to go for everything DIY, but after trying to drill through a concrete wall in my garage last week, my little Ryobi just couldnt cut it. My dad brought over his corded hammer drill and it went through that wall in about 30 seconds flat. Has anyone else found a situation where corded tools just work better for a specific project?

That concrete wall - what size bit were you trying to use?

Yeah, the "what size bit" part gets me thinking... I actually saw a video from this contractor on YouTube who said he always starts with a 3/16 bit for pilot holes in concrete, then steps up. Weird how something so small can make or break a job like that. Not sure if that helps @park.adam, but it stuck with me because he showed how a bit thats too small just snaps off in the wall when you hit a rock pocket. Ive used a 1/4 inch on similar walls before and it worked okay, but had to go slow and let the hammer drill do the work.
