Had a revelation about dollar store glass cleaner versus the expensive stuff yesterday
I was wiping down my bathroom mirrors with the name brand spray I bought at the grocery store, paying $4.99 a bottle, and it left streaks no matter how hard I rubbed. Grabbed a $1.25 bottle from the Dollar Tree on a whim, and that cheap stuff worked better on the first pass. Why does the pricier cleaner seem to perform worse than the budget option?

And that's exactly what I was thinking, @reese_singh87, but then I got to wondering if maybe the cheap stuff has more ammonia or something? My grandma used to swear by plain vinegar and water for everything, said the fancy bottles were just scented water. I tried her trick once on my kitchen windows and it smelled like a salad for a week, but the glass was spotless. So maybe there's something to these budget cleaners cutting through grime better because they don't have all the extra perfumes and stuff.
